Siyeh Pass is a long, elevation-heavy day hike with exposed ridges and scree. It’s usually done as a point-to-point or loop using the Glacier shuttle, so plan for parking and a full day.
Strenuous to Challenging
Best suited for experienced day hikers with strong endurance who can handle 6–9 hour days, 2,135–2,300 ft of gain, and exposed sections. Not recommended for beginners or hikers with mobility limitations.
Alpine pass with broad mountain country, Preston Park wildflowers, and glacier glimpses; wildlife sightings are common along the meadows and basins.
Strenuous to challenging; plan a full day (roughly 6–9 hours) with 2,135–2,300 ft of elevation gain.
Siyeh Bend Trailhead has limited parking. Arrive by 7–8 AM to secure a spot, especially in peak season. If the lot fills, use the free Glacier National Park shuttle between Siyeh Bend and Sunrift Gorge to complete a loop.
Photo opportunities include alpine meadows, ridgelines near the pass, and Siyeh Creek scree fields. For best light, shoot from higher switchbacks during dawn or dusk.
• Start before 8 am to maximize daylight. • Stage two vehicles at each end if possible; otherwise use the free GTTS Road shuttle. • Bear spray accessible; stay loud and aware of wind shifts near the pass.

We had the best hiking experience in this Siyeh Pass Trail! Point to point start from Siyeh Pass Trailhead and end at Jackson Glacier Overlook! And then walk to our car which parked at Siyeh Pass Trail head. Be prepared if there are snows on top and it is a super hard trail with spectacular views when there are snows!
