Morning Glory Pool Trail is an easy, paved out-and-back starting at Biscuit Basin. It stays close to geothermal sights with minimal elevation, taking about 60–90 minutes if you pause to view the pools and nearby geysers. Expect crowds, but the geothermal sights reward a patient pace. Stay on boardwalks; hydrothermal ground is dangerous.
Easy Stroll
The payoff is Morning Glory Pool itself and a string of geysers along the Biscuit Basin corridor.
• Start at dawn or dusk to avoid crowds and heat. • The Biscuit Basin alternative route shortens the hike. • Check eruption predictions for nearby geysers to potentially pair sightings.

This is the best hot spring to see, out of all the hot springs in Yellowstone. It's easy to take a picture and get the whole spring in one shot, and there aren't as many people visiting this hot spring, compared to the grand prismatic, for example (due to the fact that you need to walk a couple miles to get to it). It's a beautiful thing to see and the board walk goes right up to it.

We visited in Sept. '23 and it did not disappoint. Absolutely stunning - and truly one of the most beautiful thermal features in the entire park. The vivid blues, greens, and yellows swirl together like a painting in motion. Standing at the edge of it feels almost sacred. But it’s also bittersweet. Morning Glory has faded from its once-brilliant sapphire hues because of trash and debris thrown in over the years, blocking its vents and cooling the water. People literally treated this natural wonder like a garbage can. It’s heartbreaking - and a powerful reminder of how fragile these places are. Still, even in its changed state, Morning Glory Pool is breathtaking. I’m so glad I got to see it… and I hope future visitors treat it with the awe and care it deserves.

This is a beautiful spot. Its about 30 min hike starting from old faithful geyser. Its mostly flat road or can go on the boardwalk. You get to see a lot more geysers along the boardwalk. The morning glory pool at the end is beautiful and bright. Worth the hike.

Yes, the paved boardwalks are kid-friendly, but keep children close and supervise around thermal areas at all times.
No permit is required for day use; Yellowstone entrance fees apply at the park entrance.
Carry at least 3 liters of water per person and wear sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses; expect exposure on open boardwalks.
Early summer or shoulder seasons are best; mornings are typically less crowded than afternoons.
