Overview

About This Trail

Inspiration Point delivers one of the park's most accessible high-reward hikes with two distinct routes. Take the shuttle boat across Jenny Lake (1.8 mi, 550 ft gain, easy) or walk the full South Jenny Lake Loop (5.7 mi, 870 ft gain, moderate). Either way, you'll pass the cascading 100-foot Hidden Falls and reach a viewpoint overlooking Jackson Hole Valley with the Cathedral Group peaks—Mount Owen, Teewinot, and the Grand Teton—in sharp relief. Spring snow makes the switchbacks treacherous; come summer or fall for stable footing.
