Families will find a range of straightforward room options at Motel Lake McDonald. The Cobb House suites offer the most space: a sitting area, a private bathroom, one queen bed, a sleeper sofa, and a flat-screen TV. Motor Inn Rooms sleep up to four with configurations of 1 queen, 1 double, or 2 queens, and all have exterior entrances. Snyder Hall dorm-style rooms hold a double bed or twin bunks and share a bathroom, which is less convenient for families seeking privacy. The property has no in-room air conditioning; ceiling fans are provided, and Wi-Fi is available in the Main Office area only. There is no on-site pool or gym. Dining options nearby include Russell's Fireside Dining Room and Jammer Joe's Grill and Pizzeria at Lake McDonald Lodge, with Lucke's Lounge located in the Lodge complex. Parking is in the main lot or in front of the motel rooms. Check-in begins after 4:00 PM and check-out is before 11:00 AM. The 2026 season runs May 15 through September 28.
Peak season is June–September; shoulder periods in May and September offer fewer crowds. Open May 22–Sept 27 (2026).
Look, it’s not the Ritz. It’s a budget motor inn inside Glacier NP with exterior entrances and basic rooms. No air conditioning and WiFi is limited to the main office. Breakfast is coffee in the lobby; hot breakfast is at Lake McDonald Lodge. If you’re here for price and park access, it hits the mark.
If you require modern HVAC, reliable in-room WiFi, or fully accessible bathrooms, you’ll want to skip this.

Good location overall but there is no view of the lake nor is there lake access. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was ok but the carpet was very stained and dirty. There was trash and dirt under the beds. Bathroom is extremely small and watch out for the poorly placed glass shelf.

Stayed here on our first night in Glacier - good way to get an early jump on the next hiking stop before the inadequate parking spaces fill up. And the walk down to Lake McDonald was wonderful. We expect basic accommodations in a national park (bed, bathroom, no AC) but the price doesn’t match the accommodations. This is the cheaper option on Lake McDonald and they still charged over $250 for the night, and then tacked on some historical preservation fee. If I could have figured out how to haul my camping gear out west, I would have camped over paying what they want for a simple motel room in Glacier.

Good stay overall and a great location in the park. Coffee and hot water are available all day, but we wish it started at 6am versus 8am. Small bathroom and shower but had great water pressure/hot water. Overall, pretty basic but we knew that coming in and enjoyed our stay.
