Logan Pass without the parking lottery
Park the car for the day and walk 11 minutes to Apgar Visitor Center. From July 1 to September 7 the $1 ticketed shuttle runs from there to the pass, and the 3-hour Logan Pass parking clock never applies to you.

By car- Many Glacier: Grinnell, Swiftcurrent and the boat-assisted hikes. The lot fills early in July and August.
- Two Medicine: 51 min (38 mi). Quieter, and the better second east-side day.
- Apgar and the west side: 1 min (0.5 mi).

Ask for a lakeside cabin or one with McDonald Creek views. For space, target a 2-room or 3-room cabin with a kitchen; motel rooms are smaller and more basic. If you want quieter mornings, request a unit away from creeks.
