Overview

About This Campground

Signal Mountain is the campground you pick when you want real Teton views without giving up hot showers. Its 81 sites sit in an open lodgepole pine forest next to Signal Mountain Lodge, with some sites just above Jackson Lake and the rest a short walk from the water. Tents and smaller rigs up to 30 feet both work here, and 25 sites have electric hookups. The developed area next door adds restaurants, laundry, a camp store, and a marina, so resupply is a five-minute errand instead of a road trip.

Highlights

Book If

BOOK IF: you want Jackson Lake and Mount Moran views with real amenities - showers, laundry, camp store, restaurants, and 25 electric sites for rigs 30 feet and under. SKIP IF: you're hauling a big rig over 30 feet total length, need an ADA-accessible campsite, or want deep-woods solitude far from a lodge area.

Site Types

Tent, RV (up to 30 feet), trailer

Scenic Views

Views of Mount Moran and the northern Teton Range across Jackson Lake

Nearby Attractions

Signal Mountain Summit Road, Oxbow Bend, Jenny Lake Scenic Drive, and Colter Bay are elsewhere in Grand Teton National Park

Family Friendly

Seasonal amphitheater programs, flush toilets, and a camp store with ice make this an easy setup with kids - just drill the bear-box rule into everyone on night one

Best Time to Visit

July and August bring warm days and cool nights - just plan around the common afternoon thundershowers

Camping Tips

- Book the moment your six-month Recreation.gov window opens; the campground often fills before noon in peak season - Bring quarters for the coin-op showers - Pack layers: nights run cool even in July and August, and frost is possible any month - Use the bear box for everything with an odor - coolers included - Rigs over 30 feet total length won't fit; measure truck plus trailer - Collecting downed and dead wood is allowed inside the campground, so save a few bucks on firewood

The Setup

Paved access roads mean any vehicle gets in fine, but the campground is hilly across its three loops, so bring leveling blocks. Hard 30-foot total length limit for RVs and trailers - big rigs should look elsewhere. 25 sites have electric hookups; grab one when booking if you need power.

The Vibe

Open lodgepole pine forest on hilly ground rather than a dense canopy, so expect partial screening between sites, not deep seclusion. The trade-off is the setting: some sites sit just above Jackson Lake with Mount Moran across the water, and the lodge, marina, and restaurants are a short walk away.

Bath & Laundry

Solid for a national park campground: seasonal flush toilets with cold running water, coin-operated showers, and a laundry - showers and laundry sit near the campground entrance and are fully ADA accessible. Bring quarters.

What Campers Say

Campers come here for the combination other Teton campgrounds can't match: Mount Moran views over Jackson Lake with flush toilets, showers, and a restaurant within walking distance. The 30-foot rig limit and quick sellouts are the recurring gripes.
