Overview

About This Campground

Queets Campground is the quiet corner of Olympic - 20 first-come, first-served sites tucked near the Queets River, reached only by the Upper Queets River Road since a past mudslide closed the other way in. This is real self-sufficient camping: no water, no trash service, vault toilets, and no cell signal, so you haul in what you need and haul out what you make. What you get in return is a secluded river camp for $15 a night, open year round. Bring the jugs and settle in.

Highlights

Book If

BOOK IF: You're a self-sufficient tent camper who wants a secluded, first-come riverside camp and doesn't mind hauling water and trash. SKIP IF: You need hookups, showers, potable water, or RV/trailer access - NPS lists none of those here.

Family Friendly

Workable for self-sufficient families who bring their own water and pack out trash; no amenities on site and the river is nearby, so keep close watch on little ones.

Camping Tips

- There is no water here: pack a full jug per person per day or bring a filter for the river. - No trash service - bring heavy-duty garbage bags and pack everything out. - No cell reception: download offline maps and tell someone your plan. - Fires only in the designated fire grates; check fire ban status before lighting up. - Access is only via Upper Queets River Road (from Road 21 off Highway 101) - verify road conditions at (360) 565-3131 before committing to the drive.

The Setup

Small, simple campground: 20 sites with no hookups and no listed RV or trailer access, so plan on tents or small setups. Reach it only via the Upper Queets River Road - confirm conditions before hauling gear in.

The Vibe

Secluded river-corridor camping, not a parking lot. NPS calls it a secluded campground near the Queets River, and with no cell service, no water, and no camp store, it stays quiet and self-reliant.

Bath & Laundry

Vault toilets year round, no showers, no laundry. Plan your hygiene stops in town.
