What Are Aquatabs?
Aquatabs is an incredibly useful and efficient water purification tablet.
It utilizes a unique blend of food-grade NaDCC (sodium dichloroisocyanurate) and HOCl (monosodiumcyanurate) to effectively kill any bacteria, viruses, or Cysts present in the water.
When placed in contaminated water, it kills all the impurities by releasing HOCl molecules which evenly distributes chlorine throughout the solution while eliminating all harmful agents.
The usage process is easy.
Just add one tablet to a quart of water, mix for 10 minutes, then allow to settle for 30 minutes.
Afterwards you can enjoy fresh, safe drinking water as all contaminants have been eliminated and health risks minimized.

My Personal Aquatabs Experience: I’m Shocked
Testing Aquatabs was an interesting experience to me. I wanted to know how they performed in terms of taste and convenience.
The results were better than expected!
The tabs dissolved quickly, leaving no unpleasant aftertaste in the water. The experience was enhanced by the fact I did not have to carry a large amount of water on me.
Overall, Aquatabs proved to be an easily accessible and great-tasting alternative for quick hydration during my adventures
My Aquatabs Taste Review
For this test, I decided to use ordinary city water right out of my faucet as a base to analyze the results.
After the purification process, I had two glasses of water available, one with an Aquatab in it and one without.
Upon tasting the regular tap water, it produced no surprises with its familiar taste.
Subsequently, sampling the Aquatab water, a slight chlorine taste was detected initially but nothing more on subsequent drinks. Thus indicating that the water tasted clean like the first sample.
My Aquatabs Ease of Use Experience
Personally, I have found Aquatabs to generally be an easy-to-use water purification solution with good directions.
However, I believe the instructions could be more clear. While they get the point across, it took me a minute to figure out exactly how many tabs I needed for a given amount of water. While this isn’t much of an issue, it is something to keep in mind while reading over the directions.
Here is what the original instructions look like.
Here is what I believe a more effective chart would look like.
Tablets | Treated Water Amount (Clear) | Treated Water Amount (Cloudy) |
---|---|---|
1 (49mg) | 0.5 Gal (64 Oz) | 0.2 Gal (25 Oz) |
1 (397mg) | 4 Gal (512 Oz) | 1.5 Gal (192 Oz) |
These are only two types of tablets that are offered. The big difference is how many come in the package. I believe not including the active ingredient amount would held declutter the table. However, I understand this might be an FDA issue that can not be changed.
The volume of water treated though, looks very cluttered. I know for a fact when I’m in a situation that calls for water purification, I will remember one 49mg tablet treats a half gallon of clear water or .2 gallons of cloudy water.
Who Would Benefit From Using Aquatabs?
Aquatabs are a revolutionary, user-friendly product that should be in all emergency kits and is the perfect addition to anyone’s outdoor gear.
Whether you’re a hiker, backpacker, or backcountry camper, having access to large amounts of freshly purified water within 40 minutes provides much-needed peace of mind.
Furthermore, for those who enjoy the nomadic life – Van Lifers – Aquatabs offer an excellent way to purify river or lake water on the go.
Sparing travelers time and gas money, they don’t need to return to a campground for potable water.
Ultimately, Aquatabs have the potential to benefit nearly everyone who enjoys spending time outdoors.
Conclusion: Should You Buy Aquatabs?
Aquatabs are essential for anyone who wants to be prepared for any emergency. These little tablets are so easy to use and carry with you that there is no excuse not to have them on hand at all times.
