Bird Woman Falls Overlook
A 492-foot waterfall plunges between Mount Oberlin (left) and Mount Cannon (right) at the Bird Woman Falls Overlook on Going-to-the-Sun Road. Snowpack and glacier melt from the high cirque above feed this system; flow volume peaks in June-July during snowmelt season and drops significantly by September. The roadside overlook provides direct access without hiking—a rare chance to observe active alpine drainage in a glaciated valley. This waterfall reveals ongoing erosion processes carving the valley floor.
