Alright, Yellowstone River RV Park sits just south of the North Entrance as a budget-friendly basecamp for Mammoth and Gardiner. There are 85 RV and tent sites, none with hookups, but potable water spigots are spread around and a fire ring with a picnic table is at every site. Showers aren’t on-site; pay showers are available at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel or Gardiner. Quiet hours are enforced, and each site has a bear locker for food storage—plan for a bear country stay.

Big-rig folks: many sites are pull-through with paved internal roads; plan for a 40 ft combined length in most spots, but some long sites up to 75 ft exist. Winter limits shrink to 30 ft; verify site before booking. Expect limited maneuvering space and watch for overhanging branches on entry to some pads.
A straightforward basecamp setup with river proximity and bear-awareness considerations. The layout is simple, neighboring campers are common, and basic facilities are available. Privacy varies by site choice, but the focus is on practical camping without luxe extras.
Shower facilities are not on-site; plan to use pay showers at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel or Gardiner. Laundry status isn’t specified in the data; assume nearby options in Gardiner or Mammoth area if needed.

It's a spartan strip of gravel on the river. The prices were a bit steep for what is offered. I was headed south through the park so this was one of the few options.$133.00 per night for a back in. The staff is nice. I realize it's a tourist economy but when I go that way again I'll stay in one of the other parks down valley. Paradise Valley is worth the trip. Gardiner did nothing for me at all.

Great location for Yellowstone, no hassle getting in and out of our site. We checked in late and left early. It was a great jumping off point for us. Hookups were great, sites were good size and we enjoy our stay!!

Great location to Yellowstone National Park with easy access to the North Entrance. Campground is well maintained and has quarter operated washer and dryers which is so great after long days of hiking around Yellowstone!
