West Yellowstone is the gateway to Yellowstone Nat'l Park and the motel was perfect. The room was just a tad bit on the small side and I wish there was an extra outlet for charging my phone, tablet and camera batteries but that's just nitpicking. It's obviously an older place and it was clean. That's what's important to me. When you're there, you shouldn't even be in the room except to sleep. Get in the park (!!), visit the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, go to a restaurant or go shopping at any of the local touristy stores within walking distance. The staff in the front office was exceptional. Because I was there just a couple days before the government shutdown, we weren't sure if Yellowstone would be open. I asked that, if it shut down, would they let me leave a day early without paying. The owner was nice and agreed. The good news is that the gates did not close while I was there and I stayed for the full amount of days I originally booked. My recommendation to you if you stay there is to pay attention to the map they give you. I asked a few dumb questions that would have been answered on the map. Yes, they do have an ice machine!! 😆

This was a great base location in West Yellowstone! The location was within walking distance of the entire town, easy access to restaurants, gas stations and the west entrance. The room was clean and spacious, with comfortable beds and amazing ac for coming back from a hot day of exploring.Only downside was our fridge didn’t work (even though we followed the instructions), so we lost some temperature sensitive groceries.Comparing the price of other options, I highly recommend this motel as your base to the park!

Motel in the heart of west Yellowstone. Found this place by chance. Within walking distance to grocery, gift shop and restaurants. Hotel is very well maintained and quiet. The family doing the cleaning was outstanding. This is likely this cleanest place I have stayed in. There is a special shared room for cooking. Full kitchen. You would need to bring your own knife for cutting but everything else is there. The only challenge would be parking. They have more rooms than parking. Street parking on the side. I think the town is safe for that. Only open April through October.
