It's a solid base for Yellowstone, with an indoor pool and underground heated parking. Open year-round, but note the renovation shutdown from Jan 5 to May 21, 2026. Deluxe King, Deluxe Double Queen, and Family Suites with kitchens give you room to move. This is $87 off-peak, $133+ soon-to-be-elevated pricing as the calendar fills—we take those.
Hit the in-room coffee maker or swing by a local cafe. You're roughly 6 minutes from the park entrance by car. Leave by 6:45–7:00 AM to beat the crowds at the West Yellowstone gateway.

This is not luxury. It’s a workable base near West Yellowstone with an indoor pool and kitchen options in some suites. Renovation work in early 2026 may affect amenities. Expect extra fees during peak season and occasional noise; value comes from location and sizable family-friendly layouts.
Light sleepers who demand total quiet or travelers seeking ultra-luxe experiences.
• Book early for peak season; the area is popular and prices rise quickly. • Request a room away from the highway for quieter nights. • If traveling with pets, secure a designated pet-friendly room and confirm the pet policy at booking. • Plan around the May 15–Oct 15 peak window and the Jan 5–May 21 renovation period.

First to make some things clear - lodging in Yellowstone is expensive, it is not a year round destination and for example we paid almost double the price than Hyatt in Denver. However, having booked our room 6 months prior to our trip with free cancel option, I had plenty of time to change it. That never happened. Reason - simply I did not find a better solution in terms of price/quality/location. Location is great - at the beginning of town, 5 min drive from YP gates, 10 min walk from downtown restaurants and entertainment. Free parking. Rooms are average - classic two queens we're used to when touring USA. Pool is great - fair in size and perfectly heated, plus the hot tub behind. They serve a hearty breakfast to start your day of adventures - very good one for American standards. Nice touch are the cookies and smores kits you can prepare by the fireplace outside. All the staff was kind and helping

Our stay at Gray Wolf in West Yellowstone was overall good. Check-in went smoothly, and the complimentary breakfast was enjoyable. There is no on-site restaurant, so we had to find food elsewhere, but they provided complimentary S’mores kits and a fire in the evening, which was really fun. We stayed in a two-queen room, which was a bit compact, as we booked at the last moment. The hotel offers free secured garage parking as well as side parking, which we appreciated, though the parking lot is small and not well-paved, and the notice about not being responsible for theft felt a bit awkward. The front desk was always busy, and we had to wait in line for check-in and other queries. The housekeeping service was good and always available. The hotel provided a pack-and-play for our baby, two water bottles in the room, and had a water filter on-site. There’s a nice indoor pool, though we didn’t use it since we were mostly at the park and were tired by the time we returned. Overall, the property is a good choice for a Yellowstone trip, and we would probably opt for a more spacious room in the future.A safety note for West Yellowstone: driving at night can be tricky, as pedestrians often walk randomly on the roads. While they technically have right of way, it can be dangerous in the dark. We also saw a driver hit a parked car by the roadside at night, which was unsettling.

We’ve stayed here twice and have been really happy with it! The interior is a little dated - the carpets could be replaced and the room itself is quite dim despite many lamps and lights. The bed is comfortable though and the housekeepers came very day and did a great job; Then pool and hot tub are the cleanest I’ve ever seen in a hotel. The breakfast isn’t quite typical for a hotel but we ate it 5 days in row no problem. 3 types of cereal, bananas, oranges, juice, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bagels, wheat bread, PB, jelly, cream cheese, breakfast taquitos (soft, not crunchy), sausage and egg patties. They have cookies every afternoon and s’mores kits which the kids love. We also got an amenity bag for our dog which was a nice touch. I will definitely stay here again!
