This was such an outrageously memorable experience! We stayed in Yellowstone for a week and spent our first night in the Roosevelt Cabins. I honestly regret not booking all of our nights here considering it doesn't take terribly long to get across the main loop. The atmosphere was 10/10. The showers and bathrooms were 9/10. The staff was 10/10. The cabins themselves were so cool that I'm considering building something similar! This was my single favorite stay in Yellowstone and I intend to come back again.

In January 2025 I booked 2 nights for August 2025. When we got there, my reservation was messed up and changed to only 1 night. We had to last minute drive back to Mammoth for cell service so I could double-check my reservation and call Xanterra customer service, who told me that the lodge changed my reservation today and I needed to talk to them, even though I just did. Some weird technical issue happened I guess. The girl working the front desk was empathetic about it & we were able to get a partial discount and find a rental night available in Gardiner. Definitely not an ideal experience though.Anyway, the lodge itself is nice. The rooms have very squeaky floors but overall very cute and beds were comfy. The lodge restaurant was very good and reasonably priced.I would want to book again but would be wary about it due to the reservation being messed up. If I was from out of country and especially didn't know English well, I could have ended up with no place to stay.

Roomy cabins. Rooms are a good size. Enough to move around, but not big enough to fit a couch. There is a desk and bench at the end of one of the beds (in the 2 bed cabins). We had one with a bathroom. Bathroom has a corner shower and toilet (sink is in the room). There is a heater, no a/c. A fan is provided which was nice. The windows do open and it was nice at night to have them open. Great location if you want to be close to Lamar Valley.

Potable water spigots aren’t explicitly listed for cabin guests; assume potable water is available at lodge facilities.
Yes, select cabins are pet-friendly with a $40 per night fee (as of April 24, 2026). Pets must be leashed and cannot be left unattended; they aren’t allowed on park buses or in public lodge areas.
Cell service is limited (Verizon best, AT&T second) and inconsistent during peak times; there is no internet service at Roosevelt Lodge.
The season runs June 5 to September 7; book early for peak season as these cabins fill quickly.
Campfires follow seasonal park rules; the cabins do not include fireplaces, and any fires depend on current fire restrictions.
