Here's the plan: Eagle Creek Campground sits near Yellowstone’s North Entrance with 20 sites spread across mostly rustic, gravel-paved lots. There are no hookups or showers, but bear boxes and vault toilets keep things simple and safe. Bring water if you’re unsure about availability and plan to pack out what you pack in; the roads are rough and space is tight for big rigs.
Vault toilets; no showers; plan for basic amenities in Gardiner; group site available for larger families
Peak summer (July–August) busy; May or September shoulder seasons quieter
Internal roads are gravel and can be steep with tight turns; plan for a 20-ft trailer or higher clearance; back-in spots preferred where possible; group site can accommodate large gatherings near the river trail
This is a rugged, forested campground used as a practical basecamp near the park entrance. No hookups, bear country, and basic facilities; it’s functional, not luxurious
Showers are not available; laundry not on-site; plan to use Gardiner facilities or town services
18 single-family sites, 2 double sites; tent and RV sites; some unpaved
Hiking, birding, fishing, picnicking, wildlife viewing, road biking, horseback riding; Yellowstone River Trailhead within campground

Nice campground close to the North Entrance. No hook ups but some nice sites. The only drawback is the 2 mile road from Gardiner. All wash boards and pot holes. Whoever maintains that road can do better.

We were fortunate enough that someone canceled and a site opened up so we reserved it right away (2 months out). I have camped at a lot of locations before this has been the most beautiful place so far.Besides just being minutes up from the Yellowstone north entrance, it's got an amazing view if you get the right site ( which we did), fresh air, wildlife (elk) and well maintained facilities. The only downfall is that it gets pretty windy sometimes, but dies down fairly quickly. Unfortunately for us, for some odd reason. The two coldest nights of the month happen to be both our nights (33° and 31°) then back to the 40s when we left. The drive up and down is an adventure in itself, but the view from the route is just amazing. You can see the town, the Yellowstone entrance and the detour route that you probably came down from

We absolutely love this campground! It is quite and convenient to the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. The views of the Absaroka Mountains and Mammoth Hot Springs at the higher sights. The stargazing at this park is incredible with little to no light pollution. The sights were nice, but not all that private. Highly recommend this for cheap camping just outside Yellowstone.

Yes. Bear lockers are provided and food must be secured; stay alert and keep a clean site.
Potable water spigots exist, but there are no hookups; bring water if you’re unsure.
Rigs up to 20 feet are ideal on some routes; certain sites allow up to 48 feet, but expect tight turns and high-clearance requirements.
No dump station on-site; plan to use Gardiner or other facilities.
Quiet hours are 10 pm–6 am; maximum stay is 14 days.
