Canyon Village is one of Yellowstoneβs most popular hubs, offering a well-maintained campground (showers available), a cafΓ©, and a nice restaurant for dining. Its location is perfectβjust a short 5β10 minute drive to iconic spots like the Brink of Upper Falls, Artist Point, and Inspiration Point. For the best experience, start with the South Rim Drive (two-way) to visit Upper Falls viewpoints (parking available), then head to Artist Point for breathtaking views of the canyon. Next, return to the main road and take a right and then another right in a short distance to see the Brink of Upper Falls (offers Upper, Middle and Lower Overlook points). Afterwards, take the North Rim Drive (one-way) to explore Brink of Lower Falls, Red Rock Point, Lookout Point, Grand View, and Inspiration Point. Thereβs also a moderate but rewarding hike near Brink of Lower Falls for an up-close view of the falls. See attached map for details.Out of all these, my favorites are Brink of Upper Falls, Artist Point, and Inspiration Point. Canyon Village is a great base for exploring this stunning part of Yellowstone!

Decent campground. Nothing special other than being in Yellowstone NP. Sites were clean and spacious. All roads we were on were paved. Check in was easy enough and the gentleman at the desk was friendly and informative. No electric or water at our site. I66 was our site and the neighbor's weren't to close. Elevation here is around 8k foot so it does get cold and windy. We stayed in middle September and had lows of 30deg. We stayed 2 nights and everyone in our group received one shower. Showers are really dated and all the stalls are small. If you forget your towel you can get one for $1.55 each and showers cost $5.85 each. There was a laundromat there as well. Across the road in Canyon village you can find fodd and supplies if needed butexpect to pay double the normal cost. Gas is nearby at an inflated price as well.

We stayed here for five nights at the end of July and really enjoyed our visit. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was idealβclose to Canyon Village and its amenities, with Yellowstone Canyon even within walking distance. It was also a good central location for the hikes we wanted to do.Our only small gripe was that our campsite sat on a noticeable slope, including the tent area, which meant our sleeping bags slowly migrated downhill during the night. Still, the setting, convenience, and friendly atmosphere far outweighed that minor issue, and weβd gladly stay here again.
