We roll into Whitefish with a big price and big expectations. This 40-room hotel traces its roots to the Stumptown Inn (1904) and has been renovated for a modern, community-focused vibe. There’s no elevator, but a wood-burning sauna, firepit, and a cozy communal lounge keep the energy high. Dogs are welcome in select rooms for a $50 per stay fee, and WiFi is free.
Hit the lobby coffee bar early. Drive time to Glacier NP Entrance Station: Unknown minutes. Leave by 6:45 AM to beat the crowds and own the morning.
✅ BOOK IF: You crave a chic Whitefish base with a strong community vibe and don’t need an elevator. ❌ SKIP IF: You require an on-site restaurant or a resort-level setup.

Historic early-20th-century inn architecture with modern updates
Guest reviews praise cleanliness, friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, and great location.
Not ideal for guests who require an elevator; compact rooms may feel tight for larger families
Summer and Winter peak seasons
This is not a resort. It blends historic charm with modern style in Whitefish. The energy comes from a communal vibe, sauna, and a lobby coffee bar, but rooms can feel small and there’s no on-site breakfast or elevator. Staff and location lift the value, especially for travelers who want a stylish base with easy access to town and outdoor activities.

We were extremely impressed with Apres Whitefish. Every single member of staff we met was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable, with lots of space. The lounge area was a bonus (with an LP player, books and magazines). The sauna was a nice treat (with luxurious robes and extra towels provided). The laundry was an added bonus and not expensive. Plus, the coffee (available all day) was superb!! Whitefish has a great mix of shops, bars and restaurants - definitely somewhere we’d come back to visit - and we would book Apres Whitefish again, without question.

I could tell when I entered the office that this Hotel was different. Thank Heavens!! I hate, regular, stuffy, difficult hotels and motels . Apres is refreshingly different. It's affordable, adorable, and easy to love! The staff is friendly, and great at their jobs! The rooms were beautiful, unique and clean as a whistle!!It's nice to see people who take pride in their jobs... AND the business they work for. Kudos to whoever is in charge of Human Resources!

This is a very nicely done basic hotel room. Kinda stylish, Montana Modern meets Scandinavian. The service is outstanding. Every person was very nice and incredibly helpful. Wood fired sauna building and cozy lounge are bonuses. Not to mention there will probably a town deer 🦌 or two to greet you in the back yard area at night.
